Jon Catania AIA, LEED Green Associate
Jon Catania is an associate principal with 14 years of experience in architectural design and construction supervision ranging from new construction, historic renovation, interior fit-outs, to master planning. He balances his eye for fine craftmanship and design with strong technical abilities to ensure proper documentation of design goals while also meeting concerns regarding life safety, constructability, cost, and other practical concerns.
Jon believes in an inclusive, collaborative design process that is guided by collective understanding and decision-making. No matter what kind of project he is working on, he always considers the greater context of how a space will be used and how it enhances mission and culture. Some of Jon’s recent efforts include serving as project architect on master plan and implementation projects at the American University of Bahrain master plan and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins University. In his spare time, Jon has taught studio design courses and guest clinics at the University of Maryland. He is an active member of AIA, having recently served on an award design review.
