The Southwest chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) recognized two Ayers Saint Gross projects with IIDA Southwest Design Awards last week, as announced during the chapter’s annual award gala on March 28.

The Jack C. Taylor Visitor Center at the Missouri Botanical Garden was named Best in Show, the highest recognition of the night, and earned a design excellence award in the category of public facilities. The visitor center, which opened in 2023, draws inspiration from nature and serves as a place of passage, but also of pause and reflection. Read more about the visitor center’s use of biophilic design.

Frisco Landing, the flagship building for the new University of North Texas at Frisco campus, was also recognized with an award of merit in the education category. Read more about that project. A collaboration with TreanorHL, this academic building’s interiors are influenced by the natural surroundings with strategically incorporated colors that resonate with the university brand and provide navigational cues.

Congratulations to these talented design teams!
