Campus Plan and Campus Plan Update
University of Notre Dame
The plan works to establish a vibrant campus edge using urban design principles focused on mobility and open space.
The campus plan initiates strategies for development benefiting both the University of Notre Dame and the surrounding community. The plan proposed several street realignments on the university’s southern and eastern edges, which once completed, improved the potential for communication between the campus and its adjacent neighborhoods. On campus, the planning team sought to increase the responsible carrying capacity of the land by strategically locating new building projects within the pedestrian core.
