Ayers Saint Gross, in association with OLIN, developed the winning design entry for a competition from the Baltimore Development Corporation for the redesign of Pratt Street, the main corridor along the Inner Harbor in Baltimore City. The design calls for transforming the street into a tree-lined avenue, activated with people, fountains, restaurants, shops, parks, new architecture, stimulating lighting, interactive sculptures, and site furnishings. The new urban landscape includes better sidewalks, new trees and streetlights, and plantings in bioretention areas. An unsightly berm was removed, making that block and the city pedestrian-friendly, safer, and more beautiful.
