Innovation District Master Plan
University of Maryland
A plan inspires and empowers students and faculty to translate their passions and creative ideas into real-world solutions to economic, societal, technological, and cultural problems.
College Park, MD
To ignite entrepreneurial spirit, commercialize technologies, and foster collaboration, University of Maryland and Ayers Saint Gross collaborated on an innovation district mixed-use plan that provides an important link between the residential and commercial districts of College Park. Ideally located between the edge of campus and a research park, the innovation district has easy access to major interstates, and is the site of a new Metro station. Ayers Saint Gross worked with the university to provide a programmatic framework that supports the university’s three-part mission of research, teaching, and services to the community and region.
