To ignite entrepreneurial spirit, commercialize technologies, and foster collaboration, University of Maryland and Ayers Saint Gross collaborated on an innovation district mixed-use plan that provides an important link between the residential and commercial districts of College Park. Ideally located between the edge of campus and a research park, the innovation district has easy access to major interstates, and is the site of a new Metro station. Ayers Saint Gross worked with the university to provide a programmatic framework that supports the university’s three-part mission of research, teaching, and services to the community and region.
