A new campus is set at the edge of an existing commercial development within the sovereign Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. The academic building houses the once separate middle and high school programs in a forward-thinking, combined institution for a diverse, multicultural student body. The new facility breaks from traditional American educational models as it creates an environment that supports collaboration, flexibility and openness in keeping with the pedagogy of the International Baccalaureate. The planning process informs a contemporary design in a 21st-century learning environment that aligns a school steeped in tradition with their unique pedagogy.
