University Dining Center Signage and Environmental Graphic Design
Following a decade of student life planning with the university, Ayers Saint Gross designed a residential dining hall to serve a projected future demand of 3,000 students. The venue focuses on food platforms, each devoted to its own menu. University colors and messaging, applied throughout the space, offer focal points and differentiate flatforms. A pop of bold Mankato purple and dimensional, edge-painted letters, welcome students and visitors to the Dining Center. Platforms are identified with large aluminum letters, consistently located above each station. University and dining-specific messaging, juxtaposed in typographic weights and sizes, creates a central feature wall.
