Delaplaine Fine Arts Center
Designed to support visual and performing arts at Mount St. Mary’s University, the Delaplaine Fine Arts Center serves as a space to host performances, concerts, lectures, and exhibits featuring the extraordinary talent of students, faculty, and staff. A renovated and expanded 1900s quarried-stone building, the space features a 280-seat theater, dressing rooms, scene shop, an art gallery, faculty offices, and music teaching rooms, green rooms, and theater support addition. The project is both an extension of the core campus and Founders Plaza, linking to the newly developed pedestrian spine as identified in the campus master plan. It is intended to complement, but not replicate, the campus vernacular architecture, and reflect the massing, articulation, and attention to detail of neighboring buildings.
