Ayers Saint Gross developed a comprehensive landscape master plan that celebrates Grinnell, creates a welcoming campus, and efficiently uses existing resources. The new plan reinforces the dynamic campus community with outdoor spaces that establish a vibrant campus life. The Iowa prairie is expressed through native plantings and materials. The high-quality open-space network consists of varying scales and flexible uses that is equitable to all, and the universal design is to be used campus-wide. Grinnell embraced sustainability enhancements as a part of an institutional commitment to environmental stewardship. Ayers Saint Gross designed the first completed project of the campus master plan, the Kington Plaza and Christiansen Outdoor Learning Spaces.
