Art and Design Building
George Mason University
A building for the arts is designed to strengthen campus identity and highlight prominent campus destinations.
The Art and Design Building provides the painting, sculpture and graphic design programs with the flexibility to accommodate changes in teaching methods and curriculum. The facility includes flexible classrooms and studio spaces for painting and drawing, digital arts, graphic design, sculpture, photography and printmaking, an art gallery and administrative and faculty spaces. A lecture hall, student lounge, and café bring collaboration opportunities for students and faculty. The design incorporates an industrial character, combining pre-cast concrete, brick, metal panels and engineered glazing systems.
