Campus-wide Wayfinding and Signage
The Campus-wide Wayfinding Master Plan and implementation for the Community College of Baltimore County includes exterior and interior signage for three campuses and more than 40 buildings. The master plan provides a comprehensive set of guidelines for a signage and wayfinding system. The implementation project includes design intent, technical specifications, and construction administration for all aspects of the project. A consistent logic and design approach was employed among the three primary campuses and within their buildings to highlight the unified identity of one community college. Simplified messaging and a clear and approachable design aesthetic enable quicker navigation for first-time visitors to campus. The spirit and reputation of the institution was promoted with signage that is contemporary, visually calm, sophisticated, contextual, and respectful of history. The signage and wayfinding were designed for flexibility and adaptability, knowing that a campus is rarely static.
