The Catholic University of America 2018 Framework Plan guides near-term change to improve student experience and support growing research while creating a more sustainable, welcoming, and pedestrian-oriented campus environment. A core challenge for the university is maintaining its legacy buildings and historic character while creating flexible, mobile, and technology-rich spaces. The framework plan aims to capitalize on campus strengths while addressing connectivity, quality, and wayfinding challenges to create spaces that support the university’s standard of excellence. The plan incorporates deeper dives in academics, research, student life, athletics and recreation, landscape, wayfinding, and utilities to create a comprehensive vision for the campus.
To continue their reputation for excellence, Catholic University’s master plan includes renewal of existing facilities, increased capacity for interdisciplinary science and engineering, and the preservation of key development sites for future academic program needs.
The plan identifies improvements that are essential for improving the recreational experience, supporting student athletes, and enhancing the fan experience for the university community.
