The University of Texas at El Paso is nationally recognized for advancing the field of additive manufacturing. The new Advanced Manufacturing and Aerospace Center will provide nearly 95,000 GSF of teaching and research space to address dynamic growth of the program. This world-class facility will serve more than 600 graduate and undergraduate students annually and reinforce UTEP’s position at the forefront, helping to build upon its partnerships in the aerospace and manufacturing industries.

Like the neighboring Texas Western Hall (also designed by Ayers Saint Gross), the AMAC exterior is designed in the Bhutanese style, continuing a rich architectural legacy on the UTEP campus. The building’s interior incorporates modern materials that thoughtfully reference traditional Bhutanese elements and motifs. AMAC houses 29 laboratories dedicated to testing and 3D innovation, along with specialized testing labs, high bay labs, a machine shop, administrative offices, and a central lobby with meeting areas — all organized to foster discovery and innovation in the region.
